There is so much to think about when it comes to selecting your wedding photographer and videographer. Here is a list of the most common questions we get asked. We have answered them here so you are well informed with how we operate.
Why aren't you as expensive as everyone else?
The questions we are most often asked is ”why don’t you charge more?” Simply, we are not a one-man-band, so we don’t have to make as much money on a single wedding because we do weddings in every state across the country, every week. We have trained and developed local artists to a point where their work speaks for itself. This results in consistency, great products and even better service for everyone! What deposit do you require to book?
Booking is simple and inexpensive. All we require from you to secure your date is a $300 deposit. Once this is cleared in our account (either credit card or direct transfer is ok) we lock the date in our calendar – and you are booked with a price and inclusions guarantee.
When do we make payments?
Payment is broken into 3 parts: PAYMENT 1: deposit $300 or 10%, whichever is more; PAYMENT 2: further 70% just prior to wedding day; PAYMENT 3: 20% – straight after wedding (editing will commence once final payment is received)
When do we need to book & will you hold our date?
We always recommend our couples do their homework. It’s an important decision selecting your wedding photographer/videographer. There are so many variables – style of work, package inclusions, price, turnaround times etc. After doing your research, if you decide we are your choice – contact us straight away and get a deposit down. Many couples will book us after one phone call or email – so the longer you leave it the more likely you are to miss out.
How long before my DVD and photos are ready?
The all important question – how long after the wedding till we get our photos/video? The good news for you is that SMC Studios has a full sized editing team – complete with video editors, photo retouchers and album designers. We generally take 4-8 weeks to have proofs for your photos and 6-12 weeks for your video. On rare occasions things get out of hand and things can take a bit longer – but in most cases these estimates are spot on the money!
How many locations can we have?
Easy – as many as you want! All of our packages are so flexible that we go wherever you go – for the one price. You have us booked to cover you day – and we will do whatever it takes to make you happy, it’s the way we roll!
How many photos do you take?
Another easy question – unlimited numbers taken – unlimited numbers fully edited and handed over. The fortunate part for our clients is that when you have the luxury of a full sized editing team that specialises in one thing: editing, we don’t have to cut any corners to save time. Our photographer’s brief is to capture as many elements of the day possible – and our editing team is dedicated to editing all of those photos (aside from the weird ones – you know – blinking, strange faces!).
